Who we are
ArabicKeyboard.io is operated by Sciweavers LLC, USA. This policy covers our online Arabic keyboard, local letter alternatives, Smart word suggestions, editor and export controls. For privacy questions and requests, contact admin@sciweavers.org.
The service does not require an account, password or subscription. Visiting a website still involves some technical information, even when you do not type anything.
Information we handle
- Content used by the keyboard: text you type or paste, selected letters and words, and the individual transliterated word used for a Smart lookup. The processing for each feature is described below.
- Preferences and drafts on your device: appearance, editor formatting, typing mode, virtual keyboard settings and saved text.
- Technical information from website requests: hosting systems may record IP address, browser information, requested pages or resource files, referral information, request times and errors. On the public live website, Statcounter and Yandex Metrica also receive technical and page-usage information for traffic statistics.
- Correspondence: your email address and the information you choose to send in a support, feedback or privacy message.
What happens to your text
Simple Arabic key entry, Fast letter conversion, local letter alternatives, formatting and Word or image exports run in your browser. These actions do not upload your full document for processing.
In Smart mode, the current transliterated word is sent to our suggestion endpoint after a brief typing pause or when you finish it with Space or Enter. A preview can appear while the typed word remains English; choosing a candidate inserts it. Our server processes the lookup with its Arabic dictionary service and returns candidate words. The request does not include your full editor document. Use Fast or Simple mode when you do not want server word suggestions.
The browser downloads public keyboard layouts, fonts, scripts and other resources. These requests involve normal hosting information even when the keyboard text is processed locally.
Copy places text on your device’s clipboard when you choose it. Downloads remain under your control. Other applications, clipboard history, browser extensions and device settings have their own access and privacy behavior.
Draft storage does not send the locally saved draft contents to us. Recent Smart suggestions may be reused in bounded page memory to avoid duplicate requests; they are not saved as a Smart cache in local or session storage. The Smart feature does not build a personal word-history or training profile. The endpoint does not intentionally save a document or log each word in an application-generated history. Technical request records and the dictionary service's operational records are separate from your browser draft.
Saved drafts and preferences
The keyboard saves the latest editor draft in local storage and keeps a separate draft for the current tab. A draft can reappear when you return. A newly opened tab may start from the latest persistent draft, while existing tabs keep their own drafts. This is not an online account or a cloud backup.
Your editor font, size, text styles, color and direction use local storage so they return after reloading. Change them in Text style; Reset style restores the default typography. Appearance preferences also stay on this browser and device.
The chosen typing mode and virtual keyboard settings use local and tab storage so familiar controls can return after a reload or interface-language change. Explicit Fast, Smart and Simple page links select that mode.
Clear empties the current editor draft, but Undo can restore it while that page remains open. Clear does not remove other tabs’ drafts, clipboard history or downloaded files. To remove browser-held site data, close other ArabicKeyboard.io tabs, clear this site’s data in your browser settings, and close or reload any remaining page. See our Cookie Policy for storage lifetimes and controls.
Search, sharing and external services
When you choose a provider under Search your text, your selected text is sent to that provider. If nothing is selected, the editor text is used. The action can open a search, reference lookup or social-post composer. The destination’s privacy policy applies, and its URL may appear in browser history. Check the text before opening an external service.
A platform’s share controls may ask you to copy and paste your message or choose what to share. The destination controls its own posting flow. The keyboard does not automatically publish your document to a social account.
Email links open your email application. Messages you send travel through your email provider and are received by us; they are separate from text kept in the keyboard. Other external links, including i2Suite websites, have their own terms and privacy information.
Why information is used
The keyboard uses information to provide the typing or lookup action you request, remember your choices, and show your results. We use correspondence and operational information to answer requests, maintain the website, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Website analytics help us understand visits and improve the site.
Where a legal basis is required, these activities rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in reliable and secure operation, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. Acknowledging this policy is not consent to unrelated tracking or advertising.
Retention and other recipients
Saved drafts, appearance, editor and keyboard preferences have no automatic expiry set by the application. They remain until replaced, reset, removed by you or cleared by the browser. Tab storage and browser restoration have different lifetimes; the details are in our Cookie Policy.
The editor does not upload and store your full document for conversion. Smart mode submits individual word lookups rather than a document. Downloaded copies are not removed when you clear site storage. We cannot recover browser data that you delete.
Correspondence and technical records are separate from your local drafts. We retain them as needed to respond to requests, operate and protect the website, investigate issues or meet legal requirements. Hosting, email and analytics providers handle information for their respective services; their policies describe their own retention practices.
We may disclose information we hold when required by law or necessary to protect people and the service against abuse. A business reorganization may transfer such information with the service, subject to applicable protections and notices.
Advertising and analytics
The public live version of ArabicKeyboard.io uses Statcounter and Yandex Metrica for website traffic statistics. These services can receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, visited pages and referral information, and may use cookies or browser storage to recognize visits. They are disabled in local development and on other hosts.
The keyboard does not add a custom analytics event that submits editor text or saved drafts. Yandex Session Replay (Webvisor) is disabled. Third-party analytics scripts run on the page, so local text processing is not a promise that those providers cannot access page content. Their processing is described in Statcounter's Privacy Policy and Yandex's Privacy Policy.
Advertising is currently disabled and this version does not load Google Analytics. Browser controls and the providers' controls can restrict analytics: Statcounter offers an analytics-cookie refusal control, and Yandex provides Yandex Metrica opt-out information. We do not provide an on-site consent or opt-out control. See our Cookie Policy for storage details. Opening search, sharing or external links takes you to services with their own practices.
Security and international handling
Local typing reduces the need to send text to a server, but Smart word suggestions do send the word you request. A shared device is not private: someone with access to your browser profile may be able to see saved drafts. Avoid entering passwords or unnecessary sensitive information, and clear site data when you finish using a shared device.
We use technical measures to limit requests and reduce common website risks. No website, browser storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
Sciweavers LLC is based in the United States. Website hosting, dictionary lookup, email, analytics and external services may involve countries with different privacy rules. Applicable protections for international transfers still apply; contact us if you need information about the handling of a specific request.
Privacy questions and requests
Contact admin@sciweavers.org about personal information we hold, such as correspondence or operational records. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy, object to or restrict a use, withdraw consent where relevant, or complain to a supervisory authority.
Drafts and preferences stored only in your browser are controlled through that browser and the keyboard’s controls. We cannot access or delete those local copies for you. Include enough information to explain your request, but do not send passwords or private text unless needed and we have agreed a suitable way to receive it.
Changes to this policy
We revise this page when our practices change and show the revision date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice before a material change takes effect. Our Terms of Use explain the conditions for using the keyboard.
