Select Smart keyboard
Open Smart Arabic keyboard and choose Smart keyboard. The virtual keys show Arabic letters, while physical English typing stays English until you choose a suggestion or finish a word.
Click in the editor and type Ahmed. Use the physical keyboard for this exercise: clicking an Arabic virtual key inserts Arabic directly and does not create an English word to look up.
Finish the word with Space
Pause briefly after typing at least two English characters to see a preview, or press Space immediately after Ahmed to finish the word. Smart reuses available suggestions instead of requesting the same word again. Space accepts a suggestion and keeps one space after it; Enter accepts a highlighted choice when the popup is open.
For Ahmed, the dictionary offers the Arabic name with initial hamza as the first candidate. Accept that spelling and review the connected name. Other suggestions may represent different words; choose the one that matches what you mean.
Choose and review the Arabic word
Review the popup beside the caret. Click the Ahmed candidate with initial hamza, use arrows and Enter, or use its displayed Alt+number shortcut. The choice inserts the Arabic word without requiring a separate initial-alif correction.
If a different suggestion needs a small correction, select only the affected letter and click the intended Arabic key. Shift reveals alternate forms, including alif with hamza at the H position. Turn Shift off before using base-layer Arabic keys again. Review names carefully before saving or sharing.
The original English spelling is included among the word choices. A candidate replaces only its word while preserving nearby text and any following space or new line. A direct letter correction replaces your selected range. Undo reverses either edit.
Handle a missing match or connection
An empty response reports that no matching words were found and keeps the original input. Try another spelling, or switch to Fast and construct the word locally.
If suggestions are temporarily unavailable, the English word also stays in place. Arabic virtual keys still insert characters directly. Simple offers direct physical positions, and Fast offers local English-to-Arabic letter mapping.
A word request does not translate a sentence or guarantee that a name is spelled correctly. Review the Arabic before saving or sharing it.
Continue and keep your draft
Type the next English spelling and finish it with Space or Enter. For a known Arabic character or punctuation mark, click its key directly. Add harakat from the final row after the relevant letter.
Text style changes the complete draft. Copy gives you text to paste; Save Word (.docx) creates an editable document; Save image (.png) creates a rendered white-background image. Oversized image exports may need less text.
Smart sends the current transliterated word to the site endpoint for previews or completed-word suggestions, not the full draft. Recent results are reused only in page memory. Direct entry, editing, and download generation happen in the browser. Opening a search or share service sends the selected passage, or the whole draft when nothing is selected, to that destination.
Useful choices
Review names carefully
A candidate may need a letter correction, including hamza. Check the intended name rather than assuming the first word is already the finished spelling.
Use direct keys for small edits
Enter an Arabic letter or vowel mark from the virtual layout without waiting for a word request.
Try it yourself
Review the initial alif in Ahmed
Type Ahmed in Smart and pause to review its preview, or press Space to finish the word. Choose the Arabic name with initial hamza, then check the result.
Compare with the example
أحمدThe dictionary match includes initial hamza. Choose the intended spelling, review its letters, and use direct Arabic keys only when a correction is needed.
Questions about this method
Why do English letters stay visible with suggestions?
A preview does not change the typed word. Choose a candidate or finish with Space to insert a suggestion. Choose Fast if you want each English key converted immediately.
Will a failed request erase my English word?
No. A failed or empty request keeps the word and displays feedback. Continue with another spelling or a local method.
Do the Arabic keys need the word service?
No. Clicking a displayed Arabic key inserts it directly. The service is used for English-word previews and completed-word suggestions.
